Greetings everyone,
We would like to introduce the newest member of our family: Nicolas
Edler Bird von Eyben! Nicolas was born today at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe
Gasthuis in Amsterdam, January 15th at about 3:25pm. Everyone is home
already and doing well! We took advantage of the Dutch tradition of
going home only 2-4 hours after the birth. Our experience at the
hospital was great and the midwife and nurses were wonderful. Of
course, Rie's favorite person (after Dave) was the anesthesiologist who
provided the epidural. As you can see the little guy is pretty tired
and at this point he has spent most of his whole life sleeping.
